Keiki Program

Kids are the lifeblood of any thriving community and for Hokuloa Outrigger Canoe Club its no different!  We love our Keiki's energy and enthusiasm and there is nothing so rewarding as seeing a group of diverse young paddlers come together in a canoe, blending as a team while building strong and lasting friendships in the process.

This is why we paddle and why we invest so much time and passion in our Keiki Program!

Are you a young person between the ages of 12 and 19?  Love the ocean, the beach and have some extra energy to burn?  Then come on out and give outrigger canoe paddling a try.  Its fun, challenging and will give you a great work out too!

Hokuloa's summer Keiki (kids) program focuses on the basic skills of outrigger canoe paddling including boat-handling, steering and rigging plus teamwork and having fun!  For the 2015 Season, our Keiki's will race the Kahanamoku Klassic in Marina del Rey on May 30;Ventura Outrigger Challenge on June 6; Iron Outrigger Championships in San Diego on June 20; Kahakai 9 man sprint  relay on July 11;Noah Kalama Outrigger Classic in Long Beach on July 18; and State Sprint Championship in Santa Barbara on July 25.
